HYDRANT FLUSHING PROGRAM PASSAIC AND LODI – POSSIBLE DISCOLORED WATER AND LOW PRESSURE

NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS HYDRANT FLUSHING PROGRAM

PASSAIC AND LODI POSSIBLE DISCOLORED WATER AND LOW PRESSURE

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve service to our customers, Passaic Valley Water Commission will continue its Hydrant Flushing Program in various locations in Passaic and throughout Lodi.  Due to the extent of the flushing program, water service anywhere in Passaic and Lodi may be affected.

Water mains will be flushed from hydrants on consecutive nights, beginning on June 20, 2019.  It is anticipated that the program will be completed in about 5 weeks.

The water mains will be flushed nightly between the hours of 9:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. Please note, however, there may be some unavoidable water discoloration and low pressure at any time during the 5-week flushing period.

Passaic Valley Water Commission assures all customers that the water will be safe for use during this period; however, customers are cautioned to determine if the water is clear before washing clothes (or any other processing) as staining may occur.

Passaic Valley Water Commission regrets any temporary inconvenience this may cause its customers.
