(West Milford, N.J. – June 28, 2024) – Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) is pleased to announce that the boil water advisory issued in West Milford’s High Crest Lake neighborhood on Monday, June 24, 2024, has been lifted.
Following extensive water quality testing and in close collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), as well as Butler Water Department, it has been confirmed that customers in High Crest Lake affected by the boil water advisory can resume their normal water use.
The following measures are strongly encouraged for affected customers:
- Customers in the impacted areas are advised to run all cold faucets in their homes for about three minutes.
- Empty and clean your automatic ice makers and water chillers.
- Drain and refill your hot water heater if the temperature is set below 113 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Service connections with a water softener/cartridge filter should be run through a regeneration cycle or other procedures recommended by the manufacturer.
We apologize for any inconvenience this advisory may have caused, but it was necessary for PVWC to continue protecting public health and safety, our top priority.
